What is a voice tag?

Updated by Marina

A voice tag is a keyword used to trigger smart voice assistants, such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. When you ask the assistant to find your item, you will need to address it with the voice tag.

For example, in this case, car keys and wallet are the voice tags.

  • Alexa, ask Pebblebee to find my car keys.
  • Hey Google, ask Pebblebee to find my wallet.

The voice tag is only required if you plan to use Pebblebee voice assistant integration.

To start using your Pebblebee app with your smart voice assistant, define a voice tag for your Pebblebee device.

Set up a voice tag

  1. Open the Pebblebee app
  2. On the Devices tab, click the device from your list.
  3. Once you are on the device screen, click on the Voice Tag section.
  4. Choose the option that best describes your device. This will be the name you will use when calling your device (It will be different than the name you gave to your device).
  5. Click to confirm.

For more information on how to integrate your Pebblebee app with a smart voice assistant, check the Voice Assistant section.
