Live Location Sharing for Alert
Live Location Sharing is a powerful feature of the Pebblebee Alert system that allows your Safety Circle to follow your movements in real time during an emergency. When active, your location updates every 5 seconds for up to 24 hours, anywhere in the world with cellular connectivity and GPS.
Why Use Live Location Sharing?
- Gives your Safety Circle continuous updates on your location during an emergency.
- Works globally as long as your phone has signal and location services enabled.
- Provides peace of mind that your loved ones can track your movement until you are marked safe or the session ends.
- Automatically expires after 24 hours to maintain privacy.
What You Need Before You Can Turn It On
To enable Live Location Sharing, you must have:
- A Pebblebee Clip (Alert-compatible device) claimed to your account.
- At least one Safety Circle member added.
- An active Alert Live subscription.
How to Enable Live Location Sharing
- Open the Pebblebee app.
- Navigate to Alert Settings in your device or Account & Settings.
- Go to Safety Settings.
- Under Location Sharing Options, select Live.
Once enabled, Live Location Sharing will apply to all devices in your account with Alert turned on — no need to set it individually for each device.
Battery Fallback Option
Live Location Sharing uses GPS and cellular data, which can impact battery life. To help preserve your phone’s battery in emergencies, we offer a Fallback if Battery is Low toggle:
- If your battery drops below 20% during an active Live Location Sharing session, your phone will automatically stop live updates and switch to static location sharing to save power.
- If you trigger an Alert when your battery is already below 20%, we will send a static location instead of live updates.
This feature is optional — you can turn it on or off in Safety Settings.
Additional Information
- Session Duration – Live updates continue for up to 24 hours, or until you mark yourself as safe.
- Connection Loss – If your phone loses cellular signal or GPS, we’ll display the last known location until a new one is available.
- Battery Use – Continuous updates may use more battery than static location.
- Privacy – Your live location is never stored after the session ends and is never shared outside your Safety Circle.
- Account-Wide Setting – Live Location Sharing settings apply across all Alert-enabled devices in your account.
