Solve Error - This device is already claimed
There are a couple of reasons your device shows as Already Claimed when you try to add it to your account.
If you have previously used your device
The most common explanation for an "Already Claimed" device is that the device was already claimed on another account.
Devices are claimed to an email address, not the phone itself. That means if you have accidentally logged in using a different email address than the first time you used the app, the device will not show up in your account.
To solve this:
- Log out of the app.
- Try login in using other email addresses that you usually use. We are searching here for the first email account you used on the Pebblebee App.
- If you're unable to find the correct account, please check this article about regaing access to your already existing account.
- If you still need help, please contact our support team for additional help.
If you have never claimed your device before
If you believe that you are already using the right email and still cannot see your claimed devices.
Make sure that you are running the latest version of the Pebblebee and use the prompt on the app that redirects you to send an email to support at Pebblebee. That email will contain the mac address of the device you are trying to claim.
If for any reason you could not reach the screen that shows the mac address, please check the steps below.
How to discover the Mac address of your device
- Pebblebee Clip, Card and Found have the Mac Address printed on the back of your device.
- There will be a couple of different pieces of information on the back of your device. To differentiate the Mac Address, look for a sequence of 12 digits composed of both letters and numbers (eg: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx).
If you cannot see the Mac Address on the back of your device or if you own a Finder Classic, Finder 2.0, Black Card, or other, please check the steps below.
