Can't claim my device with the Pebblebee App
Having trouble connecting your Pebblebee to your account? This guide will help you resolve the most common claiming issues.
Before You Start
- Make sure your device is claimed to Google's Find Hub™ or Apple Find My™ .
This is a required step, the Pebblebee app cannot recognize devices that aren't already connected to these networks. - Remember to turn on Bluetooth and Location permissions.
1. Verify Device Compatibility
- The Pebblebee app supports all Gen 2 devices, check if your tracker model is compatible here
2. Perfect Your Button Timing
- Press the button 5 times : Firmly press the device button to activate discovery mode. You should see lights and hear three short beeps if done correctly
- If you don't see any feedback, try pressing faster or slower.
3. Check the Battery Level
If your Pebblebee doesn't light up when you press and hold the button, the battery is likely drained. Learn how to check your Tag, Card or Clip battery status.
Advanced Troubleshooting
Reset Your Connection
- Delete your device from Find Hub app
- Reset your device (Unsure how to do it? Check our article here to learn more)
- Clear Google Play Services cache (Android only)
- Delete and reinstall the Find Hub app.
- Delete and reinstall Pebblebee App
- Restart your phone
- Start the claiming process again
Fix Bluetooth Issues
These are most common issues on Android phones
If Bluetooth cache is full:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Bluetooth
- Clear cache and data
- Restart your phone
- Try claiming again
If Bluetooth permissions are denied:
- You need to delete and reinstall the Pebblebee app.
Reset Network settings
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll and tap on "System".
- Scroll and search for "Reset options", tap on it
- Tap on "Reset Wi-Fi, mobile, & Bluetooth" or "Reset Bluetooth & Wifi". it depends on your phone model
- Confirm the action if prompted.
Location Permission Problems
- Ensure Location is turned ON before opening the claiming screen
- If location was turned off during claiming:
- Close the claiming screen
- Turn location back on
- Restart the claiming process
