Understanding Google’s Find Hub Network and Pebblebee CompatibilityUpdated 9 hours ago

Google’s Find Hub and Pebblebee — Feature Overview and Compatibility

This article provides an update on the latest Google’s Find Hub features and how they integrate with your Pebblebee devices.

How Google’s Find Hub Network Works

Google’s Find Hub is a vast, crowd-sourced network made up of Android phones and other connected devices. It helps locate lost items — including Pebblebee trackers — even when they’re offline.

Nearby Android devices detect Bluetooth signals from your Pebblebee and securely relay its approximate location to your Find Hub app. All data is protected with end-to-end encryption, ensuring your privacy.

Google’s Find Hub App Features

The app includes several useful options for locating and managing your Pebblebee:

  • Play Sound: Activate a buzzer and light on your Pebblebee when it’s within Bluetooth range.

  • Mark as Lost: Get notified if your device is found by the Find Hub network.

  • Share Device: Share your Pebblebee’s location with trusted contacts until you choose to stop.

  • Settings: Rename your device and assign it to a specific category.

  • Remove from Find Hub: Remove your Pebblebee from the network when needed.

Note: Google’s Find Hub currently does not support Left Behind alerts or a Find Phone feature. These may be added in future updates.

Updating Your Pebblebee Device for Google’s Find Hub

Yes, you can update compatible Pebblebee Gen 2 devices purchased on or before May 2024 to work with the Google Find Hub app.

How to Update:

  1. Pair your Pebblebee with the Google Find Hub app.

  2. Open the Pebblebee App and pair the same device.

  3. The Pebblebee App will check for and install any firmware updates automatically.

Note: Gen 1 devices are not compatible with Google’s Find Hub and cannot be updated.

Why Don’t I See My Item in the Google’s Find Hub Browser?

At this time, item finders are only visible and manageable in the Google’s Find Hub mobile app. Web browser functionality is not yet supported, but updates are planned.
