Troubleshooting Connection Issues with Your Pebblebee Device and Google’s Find Hub

If you’re having trouble connecting your Pebblebee device to Google’s Find Hub™, this guide will walk you through the most common causes and how to fix them.

Before starting, make sure you have a Universal or Pebblebee for Android device.

Check if Your Device Is in Pairing Mode

Your Pebblebee must be in pairing mode to be detected by your phone.

  1. Double-press the button on your Pebblebee.

    • It should beep and flash continuously to confirm it’s in pairing mode.

  2. If it’s not flashing or responding:

    • Charge your device using the included cable.

    • Open the Google’s Find Hub app to check if it’s already listed.

    • If you have multiple Google accounts, switch between them in Find Hub > Profile icon (top right).

    • If still not detected, factory reset your device (see: How to Factory Reset Clip, Card, and Tag).

Confirm You Have a “Works with Android” Product

Google’s Find Hub is compatible only with:

  • Clip, Card, and Tag for Android

  • Universal models

Older Pebblebee products (Gen 1) or iOS-only models are not supported.

Check: Look for the “Works with Android” badge on your product box.

Turn Bluetooth ON

Your phone’s Bluetooth must be enabled to detect your Pebblebee.

To turn Bluetooth on:

  1. Open your phone settings.

  2. Search for Bluetooth.

  3. Toggle it ON.

Check Your Internet Connection

Your phone needs a stable connection to pair successfully.

  • Connect to Wi-Fi or mobile data.

  • Move to a location with stronger signal.

  • Turn off VPNs temporarily if pairing fails.

Enable “Scan for Nearby Devices”

This feature allows your phone to show the Fast Pair popup when a Pebblebee is nearby.

  1. Go to Settings → Google → Devices & sharing → Devices.

  2. Enable Scan for nearby devices.

  3. (Optional) Enable Include debug results to improve detection.

For more details, see Google’s support page.

Restart Your Phone

If pairing still fails:

  1. Clear cache for Google Find Hub and Google Play Services.

  2. Factory reset your Pebblebee or wait about 10 minutes until the light stops flashing.

  3. Turn your phone off and back on.

  4. Wait another 10 minutes for background services to reload.

  5. Make sure Bluetooth and Internet are ON.

  6. Double-press your Pebblebee’s button to reactivate pairing mode.

  7. Check that Find Hub is enabled for your account:

Settings → Google → Find Hub → Find your offline devices → With network…

If the Fast Pair Sheet Doesn’t Appear

If you dismissed the Fast Pair popup several times, your phone may temporarily stop showing it.

To fix this:

  • Make sure your Pebblebee is in pairing mode.

  • Open Bluetooth settings → Nearby devices to reconnect manually.

⚠️ Important: Do not tap “+ Pair new device.”
Pebblebee connects through Google’s Fast Pair, not standard Bluetooth.

If you already paired manually, factory reset your Pebblebee and remove it from Bluetooth’s paired devices list.

On Pixel & Motorola:

  • Tap & hold the Bluetooth tile in Quick Settings, or

  • Go to Settings → Connected Devices and select your Pebblebee.

On Samsung:

  • Go to Settings → Devices → Others → Devices.

  • Make sure Scan for Nearby Devices is enabled.

  • Tap your Pebblebee from the list to prompt the connection sheet.

Multiple Google Accounts on One Phone

If you have more than one Google account:

  • Open Find Hub, tap your profile icon (top right), and switch accounts.

  • Repeat the pairing attempt under each account.

Check if Your Phone Is Compatible

Google’s Find Hub works on Android 9+ and requires the latest Google Play Services.

  • Check your Play Services version app.

  • Update Find Hub via the Play Store.

  • Check the “Additional Information” section on the Play Store listing for region and device compatibility.

Even if your phone no longer receives Android OS updates, Google Play Services updates will keep Find Hub running on Android 9 or newer.
