Install LÔC8 inside a compatible mountain bike handlebar using the included flex mount. It is advised that all device setup and firmware updates before installation because the LÔC8 button will be more difficult to access once it is inside the handlebar.

LÔC8 must be installed inside the bicycle handlebar as described in this guide to support reliable performance. Other locations, including inside the bicycle frame, are not supported and may reduce Bluetooth signal strength or interfere with tracking-network connectivity.

Before you begin

Complete setup in this order:

1. Connect LÔC8 to your tracking network:

   • Set up your LÔC8 with Apple Find My on iPhone

   • Set up your LÔC8 with Google’s Find Hub on Android

2. Add your LÔC8 to the Pebblebee app.

3. Check for available firmware updates.

4. Use Apple Find My or Google’s Find Hub to play a sound and confirm that LÔC8 is working.

You will also need:

• Your LÔC8

• The two included flex-mount sizes

• Any tools required to loosen your mountain bike’s handlebar grip

Important: Do not install LÔC8 until it has been added to its tracking network and the Pebblebee app. Pairing and firmware updates require access to the button on top of the device.

Safety: Follow the grip manufacturer’s removal and installation instructions. The grip must be completely secure before riding. If you are unsure how to remove or reinstall it safely, ask a qualified bicycle mechanic for assistance.

Remove the handlebar grip

1. Loosen the grip on the handlebar.

2. Carefully slide the grip off the handlebar.

3. Check that the handlebar cavity is clear and accessible.

Avoid forcing or damaging the grip, handlebar, or nearby controls.

Choose the correct flex mount

LÔC8 includes two flex-mount sizes to accommodate different handlebar cavity diameters.

1. Hold LÔC8 at the handlebar opening without allowing it to slide inside.

2. Check whether it would fit securely.

3. If the handlebar cavity is wider than LÔC8 and the device would remain loose, select one of the included flex mounts.

4. Start with the smaller flex mount.

5. If the assembly remains loose, use the larger flex mount.

Choose the mount that holds LÔC8 securely without requiring excessive force.

Important: Do not drop or push an unsecured LÔC8 into the handlebar. A loose device may move inside the handlebar and become difficult to retrieve.

Fit LÔC8 into the flex mount

1. Align the raised bumps on LÔC8 with the small windows in the flex mount.

2. Insert LÔC8 into the flex mount.

3. Confirm that the bumps sit correctly inside the windows.

4. Check that LÔC8 feels snug and secure in the mount.

The device should not slide freely or separate from the flex mount during installation.

Insert LÔC8 into the handlebar

1. Carefully insert the flex mount with LÔC8 inside the handlebar cavity.

2. Confirm that the assembly fits snugly.

3. Check that LÔC8 does not move freely or rattle inside the handlebar.

4. If it remains loose, remove it and try the other flex-mount size.

5. Do not force the assembly if it is too large for the cavity.

Reinstall the handlebar grip

1. Carefully slide the grip back onto the handlebar.

2. Return it to its original position.

3. Tighten or lock the grip according to its manufacturer’s instructions.

4. Confirm that the grip does not rotate, slide, or feel loose.

5. Make sure the installation does not interfere with the brake lever, shifter, throttle, or any other handlebar control.

The reinstalled grip helps retain the LÔC8 assembly inside the handlebar.

Test LÔC8 after installation

1. Open Apple Find My or Google’s Find Hub.

2. Select LÔC8 from your item list.

3. Choose Play Sound.

4. Confirm that you can hear LÔC8 inside the handlebar.

If LÔC8 plays a sound, it remains reachable and the installation is complete.

If it does not respond:

1. Keep your phone close to the handlebar and try again.

2. Confirm that Bluetooth and internet access are turned on.

3. Remove the grip and carefully retrieve LÔC8.

4. Reposition the device.

5. Test LÔC8 before reinstalling the grip.

Before riding

Confirm that:

• The handlebar grip is fully secured.

• The grip does not rotate or slide.

• LÔC8 does not rattle or move inside the handlebar.

• All brakes, shifters, and other controls operate normally.

• LÔC8 responds when you select Play Sound.

Your LÔC8 is now installed and ready to help you locate your mountain bike through Apple Find My or Google’s Find Hub.

Maintenance note: Accessing the LÔC8 button, replacing its battery, installing firmware updates, or manually resetting it may require removing the handlebar grip and retrieving the device.
