Factory Reset and Disable Guide for HaloUpdated 4 minutes ago

Factory Reset and Disable Guide for Halo

Need to reset or manage your Halo? This guide walks you through how to factory reset, disable or re-enable your device, and retrieve your serial number — so you can stay connected and in control.

Note: If you're setting up your device for the first time, see Getting Started with Your Halo for pairing instructions.

Factory Reset Your Halo

A factory reset restores your Halo to its original settings. This is helpful for troubleshooting or preparing the device for a new owner.

How to Reset Halo

  1. Locate the button on the right side of the device.
  2. Triple-press the button at a steady pace.
  3. Immediately press and hold the button for about 10 seconds.
    • Do not pause between the triple press and the press-and-hold.
  4. Listen for three high-pitched beeps.
  5. Release the button during the third beep, before it ends.

You’ll then hear a short jingle confirming your Halo has been successfully reset.

Tip: If you don’t hear the confirmation sound, repeat the process. Try counting to 4 between each press to keep the timing consistent.

Disable Your Halo

Disabling your Halo temporarily pauses location sharing — ideal when you want added privacy without removing the device from your account.

How to Disable Halo

  1. Locate the button on the right side of the device.
  2. Double-press the button.
  3. Press again and hold for about 10 seconds.
  4. Listen for two high pitched beeps and one low pitch beep.
  5. Release the button before the second beep ends.

You’ll hear an audible confirmation once Halo is disabled.

If you don’t hear the confirmation sound, repeat steps 2–3.

Once disabled, your Halo will stop sharing its location until you re-enable it.

Re-enable Your Halo

When you're ready to resume tracking, you can quickly turn your Halo back on.

How to Re-enable Halo

  1. Locate the button on the right side of the device.
  2. Single-press the button.

Your Halo will now resume sharing its location.

Find Your Serial Number

If there is an unknown tracker with you and Apple Find My or Google Find Hub lets you know, you may look up the device nearby if prompted.

How to Retrieve the Serial Number

  1. Locate the button on the right side of the device.
  2. Press the button three times.
  3. Wait for the device to light up and beep.
