Apple and Google’s Unwanted Tracking Alerts with Pebblebee Devices
Your privacy and safety are at the heart of everything we build at Pebblebee.
Our products — including the Clip, Card, and Tag — are designed to help you find what matters most without compromising anyone’s security.
To ensure protection for everyone, both Apple and Google have built-in safety systems that detect unknown tracking devices moving with you. These alerts are called Unwanted Tracking Notifications (UTNs).
What Are Unwanted Tracking Alerts?
If your phone detects a Pebblebee Bluetooth tracking device moving with you over time and it’s not registered to your Apple ID or Google Account, you may receive a notification. Apple and Google unwanted tracking
These alerts are designed to protect people from being unknowingly tracked.
How It Works
For iPhone Users
If your Pebblebee is paired through the Apple Find My network:
iPhones automatically detect and alert users if an unknown device is traveling with them, including devices that are paired with Apple or Google.
The alert will appear as:
“Item Detected Near You” or “Unknown Accessory Detected.”
You can tap the alert to:
See the device’s movement history relative to you
Make the device play a sound to locate it
Access instructions to disable the tracker if it’s not yours

For Android Users
If your Pebblebee is paired through Google’s Find My Device network:
Android automatically scans for unknown Google Find My Device or Apple Find My trackers nearby.
If a Pebblebee device moves with you for an extended period, you’ll receive an alert:
“Tracker traveling with you detected.”
You can:
View details of the device
Make it emit a sound to help locate it
Use the built-in manual scanner in the Find My Device app to check your surroundings

What This Means for Pebblebee Owners
Your Pebblebee device will only show up to you in your Apple Find My or Google Find Hub app — never to others — unless it is separated from your phone and begins traveling with someone else.

These alerts don’t mean there’s a problem with your Pebblebee.
They simply reflect Apple and Google’s shared commitment to safety and transparency.
