Set up and use the recovery QR code on your HaloUpdated an hour ago

The QR code on the back of your Halo uses Pebblebee Link to help someone contact you if they find your lost item.

Each QR code is unique to its Halo and can be linked securely to your Pebblebee account.

Before you begin

• Add your Halo to the Pebblebee app.

• Make sure you are signed in to the correct Pebblebee account.

• Confirm that your Halo appears in your device list.

Activate the QR code

The QR code is activated automatically when you add your Halo to the Pebblebee app.

You do not need to:

• Scan the QR code during device setup.

• Add the QR code as a separate Link Label.

• Create another Pebblebee device entry for it.

After the Halo is added successfully, its QR code is linked to your account and ready to use.

Add a custom recovery message

You can create a message that will appear when someone scans the QR code.

1. Open the Pebblebee app.

2. Select your Halo from the item list.

3. Open Link Settings.

4. Select Manage.

5. Select Custom Message.

6. Enter the message you want a finder to see.

7. Save your changes.

Keep the message brief and helpful. Avoid including personal information that you do not want to share publicly.

What happens when someone scans the QR code

When someone finds your Halo and scans the QR code:

1. They are taken to a secure Pebblebee recovery page.

2. They see your custom recovery message, if you added one.

3. They can notify you that the item was found.

4. They can contact you securely through Pebblebee.

Your personal contact details are not displayed directly to the finder.

What the QR code does not do

The QR code uses reactive recovery rather than Bluetooth or GPS tracking.

It does not:

• Show the live location of your Halo.

• Replace Apple Find My or Google’s Find Hub.

• Require a battery to be scanned.

• Require the finder to have the Pebblebee app.

The finder only needs a device with a camera and internet access.

If the QR code does not work

• Confirm that the Halo appears in your Pebblebee app account.

• Make sure the QR code is clean and unobstructed.

• Confirm that the entire QR code is visible when it is scanned.

• Contact Pebblebee Support if the QR code is damaged or cannot be read.
