How to Use Live Location Sharing with Alert LiveUpdated 21 hours ago

Pebblebee Live Location Sharing — Real-Time Safety Tracking

Live Location Sharing is a powerful part of the Pebblebee Alert system, allowing your Safety Circle to follow your real-time movements during an emergency. When activated, your location updates every 5 seconds for up to 24 hours, anywhere in the world where your phone has cellular connectivity and GPS.

Note: You must have an active Alert Live subscription to access Live Location Sharing.

Why Use Live Location Sharing?

  • Provides continuous location updates for your Safety Circle during emergencies.

  • Works globally, as long as your phone has an active signal and location services are enabled.

  • Offers peace of mind knowing your loved ones can monitor your movement until you’re marked safe or the session ends.

  • Automatically expires after 24 hours to protect your privacy.

What You Need Before You Begin

Before enabling Live Location Sharing, make sure you have:

  • A Pebblebee Clip (Alert-compatible device) claimed to your account.

  • At least one Safety Circle member added.

  • An active Alert Live subscription.

How to Enable Live Location Sharing

  1. Open the Pebblebee App.

  2. Navigate to Alert Settings under your device or Account & Settings.

  3. Tap Safety Settings.

  4. Under Location Sharing Options, select Live.

Once enabled, Live Location Sharing automatically applies to all Alert-enabled devices linked to your account — no need to activate it individually for each device.

Battery Saver Options

Because Live Location Sharing uses both GPS and mobile data, it can impact your phone’s battery life. Pebblebee includes a Battery Saver option to help balance performance and efficiency.

What happens if your Battery Is Low

  • If your phone battery drops below 20% during an active Live Location session, the system automatically switches to Static Location Sharing to preserve battery life.

  • If you trigger an Alert while already below 20%, the app will send a single static location update instead of continuous tracking.

This feature is optional and can be toggled on or off in Safety Settings.

Additional Information

  • Session Duration: Live updates last up to 24 hours, or until you mark yourself as safe.

  • Connection Loss: If your phone loses signal or GPS, your last known location will display until a new one becomes available.

  • Battery Use: Continuous updates use more power than static tracking.

  • Privacy: Your location data is never stored or shared beyond your Safety Circle, and it’s automatically deleted after the session.

  • Account-Wide Setting: Live Location Sharing preferences apply to all Alert-enabled devices in your account.
