Setting Up Google’s Find Hub — Location Permissions and Network Settings
To get the best experience when using Google’s Find Hub with your Pebblebee device, you’ll need to ensure your phone’s Location permissions, Bluetooth, and network settings are properly enabled. This ensures your device’s location updates correctly and appears on the map.
Give Location Permission for the Nearby Device
Location permission is essential for your Pebblebee’s location to appear in Google’s Find Hub.
Depending on your phone model, you may be prompted to grant this permission during setup, or you may need to enable it manually.
Method 1: Through App Permissions
Open Settings on your phone and search for Location.
Tap App permissions.
Find Google’s Find Hub in the list and tap to open it.
Select Allow only while using the app.
Method 2: Quick Access via App Info
Tap and hold the Google’s Find Hub icon for 2–3 seconds.
Tap the (ℹ️) icon or App info.
Under Permissions, tap Location.
Select Allow only while using the app.
Improve GPS Location Accuracy
Improve indoor and outdoor location precision by enabling scanning features:
Open Settings.
Search for Location services.
Enable Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning.
Keep Bluetooth ON
To maintain an active connection and sync your Pebblebee’s location, make sure Bluetooth is always ON.
If you leave your item behind, the last known location will display the last time it was connected to your phone.
Set Your Find Hub Network Settings to “With Network in All Areas”
To improve tracking accuracy and contribute to Google’s Find Hub network:
Open Settings on your phone.
Search for Find Hub and tap it.
Toggle Use Find Hub ON.
Tap Find your offline devices.
Select With network in all areas.
Tip: If you share your Pebblebee with someone, ask them to also enable With network in all areas and keep Bluetooth ON for better updates.
Can’t Access Location or See “Sync Recent Location”
If you receive a Sync recent location message:
Remove your item from the Find Hub app.
Tap your device → Settings (⚙️) → Remove from Find Hub.
Factory reset your Pebblebee (see How to Reset a Clip, Card, or Tag).
Reconnect your Pebblebee to your Android phone.
Reopen Find Hub and refresh your device list.

How Location Updates Work When Your Device Isn’t Nearby
Google’s Find Hub uses crowdsourced location data from other Android devices to update your Pebblebee’s location even when it’s out of Bluetooth range.
In busy areas (like airports or malls), updates happen more frequently.
In low-traffic areas, updates may take longer.
To help the network grow and perform better, ensure your settings are set to With network in all areas.
Google’s Commitment to Safety
Google’s Find Hub prioritizes your safety and privacy with end-to-end encryption and strong anti-tracking protections.
Recent improvements have enhanced location speed and accuracy while keeping user data secure. The Find Hub system is optimized for real-world use cases like:
Finding everyday essentials: Keys, wallets, or bags left behind.
Retrieving valuables: Bikes or important items misplaced in public.
Tracking luggage: Keep your bags visible while traveling.
Google continues to refine Find Hub to make locating items faster and safer for all users.
