Downgrade from Family 8 to Family 4: who keeps accessUpdated 26 minutes ago
A change from Alert Live Family 8 to Family 4 takes effect at your next billing cycle. Until then, everyone on the Family 8 plan keeps their existing access.
Because Family 4 covers four people total, including the owner, you can keep up to three invited members after the downgrade.
Schedule the downgrade
Click on manage your Alert Live subscription under Account → Active Subscriptions → Alert Live
Change your Alert Live plan from Family 8 to Family 4.
If your plan has more members than Family 4 supports, select the members who should keep access.
Review and confirm the scheduled downgrade.
The owner always remains on the plan and cannot be removed.
Before the next billing date
All current members keep access until the downgrade takes effect.
Your retained-member selection does not automatically change if membership changes afterward.
If a retained member leaves, their seat becomes available, but your original selection remains in place.
To change who will keep access, cancel the scheduled downgrade and start the downgrade again with a new selection. Canceling the downgrade leaves your current Family 8 plan unchanged.
When the downgrade takes effect
At the next billing cycle, Family 4 becomes active. The owner and the selected members keep access. Any members who do not fit within the new plan limit lose shared Alert Live access and are notified.
If you later upgrade again, the upgrade takes effect immediately. Members who lost access during the downgrade are not restored automatically; you must invite them again if you want them to rejoin.
