Factory reset your Card 5Updated an hour ago

Factory reset your Card 5 before switching tracking networks, troubleshooting, or transferring it to someone else.

Before you begin

  • Charge your Card 5.

  • Turn on Bluetooth and internet access on your phone.

  • Keep the Card 5 close to your phone throughout the process.

Important when transferring ownership: A manual factory reset does not remove the Card 5 from your Apple, Google, or Pebblebee account. You must remove it from every connected app before another person can set it up.

Remove and reset your Card 5

The normal reset process begins by removing the Card 5 from its tracking network.

  1. Keep the Card 5 close to your phone.

  2. Remove it from the tracking network it currently uses:

  3. Listen for the reset sound from your Card 5. The device should factory reset automatically after it is successfully removed.

If you hear the reset sound, the automatic factory reset was successful. You must still remove the Card 5 from the Pebblebee app if it was added there.

Remove your Card 5 from the Pebblebee app

  1. Open the Pebblebee app.

  2. Find your Card 5 in the item list.

  3. Select the Card 5.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the item page.

  5. Select Remove Item.

  6. Confirm that you want to remove it.

Important: Removing the Card 5 from the Pebblebee app will not factory reset the device or remove it from Apple Find My or Google’s Find Hub. Each connection must be removed separately.

When to reset your Card 5 manually

Use the manual reset procedure only if:

  • You removed the Card 5 from Apple Find My or Google’s Find Hub but did not hear the reset sound.

  • The tracking app reports that the Card 5 was not nearby enough to reset.

  • The Card 5 remains unresponsive after being removed from the tracking network.

Before continuing, confirm that the Card 5 no longer appears in Apple Find My or Google’s Find Hub. A manual reset alone will not remove the device from your account.

Manually reset your Card 5

  1. Locate the button on the front of the Card 5, near the center of the Pebblebee logo.

  2. Press the button three times.

  3. At the same pace, press the button a fourth time and hold it for approximately 10 seconds.

  4. Listen for three high-pitched beeps.

  5. Release the button during the third beep, before it finishes.

  6. Listen for a short jingle confirming that the reset was successful.

If the manual reset does not work

  • Make sure there is no pause between the first three presses and the fourth press-and-hold.

  • Release the button while the third beep is still playing.

  • Press the button firmly and use a steady rhythm.

  • Charge the Card 5, then try again.

Confirm the removal

After completing the automatic or manual reset:

  • Confirm that the Card 5 no longer appears in Apple Find My or Google’s Find Hub.

  • Confirm that it no longer appears in your Pebblebee app device list.

  • Confirm that you heard the automatic or manual reset sound.

Your Card 5 is now ready to be set up again or transferred to another person.
